Our mission
Living Herds helps indigenous communities on Mindanao, Philippines, build lasting income and better nutrition through dairy goats: improving herd genetics with the National Dairy Authority, training families, distributing live goats, and selling the milk for the benefit of the communities served.
Who we are
Living Herds is a nonprofit public benefit corporation organized in the State of Missouri, USA. We are an independent, non-religious organization: we are not part of any church, ministry or political group, and we serve all people regardless of religion, ethnicity, gender or background.
Our board
Living Herds is governed by a volunteer board of directors:
- President
- Secretary
- Treasurer — a director in the Philippines
The board follows written bylaws and a conflict-of-interest policy, and it is adding independent directors.
Tax status
Living Herds is a Missouri nonprofit corporation and is preparing its application to the IRS for recognition as a 501(c)(3) public charity. Until that recognition is granted, gifts to Living Herds may not be tax-deductible. We will post our determination letter here when we receive it.
